Vital,
If you lived near me (S.Indiana) you could dig up seedlings by the hundreds as they have naturalized locally and in much of the eastern US. They are tolerant of wet or dry, acid or alkaline soils.
Try:
Hidden Springs Nursery, 170 Hidden Springs Lane, Cookeville, TN 38501. 931-268-2592 -Email hiddenspringsnursery@hotmail.com <mailto:hiddenspringsnursery@hotmail.com> (Cat. $1.00) Unusual fruits etc. including medlar, autumn olive. Annie Black & Diana Lalani http://www.google.catalogs.com
...and:
Lawyer Nursery <http://www.lawyernursery.com/>, 6625 MT Highway 200 West, Plains, MT 59859, (VOICE) 406-826-3881 and/or 800-551-9875 (FAX)406-826-5700.
http://www.lawyernursery.com/ trees@lawyernursery.com <mailto:trees@lawyernursery.com> Wholesale bulk orders of many ornamental, fruit and forestry tree species, $250 min. order.
One Green World has goumi (E. multiflora) for $20. Expensive for your needs, but they might have seeds for you

Hello,--
I am looking and kind of urgently in need of a rather large quantity (any up to a 1000) of plants (about one year old rooted cuttings or seedlings) and/or propagation material (fresh seed, fruits or cuttings) of the Elaeagnus species x ebbingei, -macrophylla and -cordifolia and other suitable multi-purpose (preferably evergreen) plants for an impenetrable hedge, which are tolerant of acid, poor and sometimes dry soil conditions.
So, if anyone can let me know about a possible supplier of such for a reasonable price, it would be highly appreciated.
Kind regards
Vital
