Will be interesting to see if whatever "free e-mail curriculum" they send me
is anything other than more spam...er, marketing material. Their overall
approach is pure, classic, old-fashioned hype. Tons of claims and promises
and exclamation points (which all sound just like those of soooo many others)
and no actual information free of marketing spin. Nothing accessible about it
IMO. I'll report back later on what the "free e-mail curriculum" is...
I also notice that their main focus is not healing or wellness for humans.
It's selling product. Human wellness (whether mental or physical) as a
commodity to be marketed and sold won't work. Unless of course we really can
buy joy and happiness and peace...but it hasn't worked yet, despite millenia
of trying.
I'm also dubious of a system that is focused on do-it-yourself-at-home. We're
social critters, like it or not.
> Addictive behaviour is a pathology of selfishness ( i need etc..)
As opposed to a healthy selfishness, which means taking good care of oneself
in order to be able to take good care of others, the earth, and of course
share surpluses.
> and this has it's origins in a
> social order that values selfishness above all other things(capitalism).
If capitalism is seen as an addiction to material wealth (and/or material
power), it may simply be a consequence of pathological self-denial.
Pathological self-denial has plenty of much deeper and earlier cultural roots.
If I am taught that I am not valuable simply because I exist (e.g. taught
pathological self-denial), and especially if I am also taught that what makes
me valuable is what I do and even more so what I have (or can get), that looks
to me like an excellent growth medium for pathological selfishness. The
addiction ("capitalism") is a consequence, not a cause.
> Real and lasting change will only occur when capitalism loses it's hegemonic

Real and lasting change will occur only when people notice that abstractions
such as "capitalism," "socialism," "globalism" and so on are their own
creations, exist only through their willingness to live those sets of habits
and support others who do the same, and choose to change their habits.
