Josh:

no info on hot-tub chemicals but...why not use sun entering the bioshelter
to heat the water? Some folks around here (51 degrees north latitude, about
10,000 F degree days) have a house-attached sunspace with hottub...the space
never gets cold (e.g. 56F or so when -40F outside)...the tub acts as a great
heat sink to keep the space warm in winter...in summer, naturally wamr tub,
cooler sunspace and house. If you can't get enough heat, consider putting a
solar batch heater (black pipes, bags or old water tanks?) in the bioshelter
too - dump in the hot water when you need to "bump up" the temperature.
Also: insulating cover over the tub to keep in heat.

IF you have to use "standard" (i.e. yucky) chemicals to keep the tub water
ok for you, why not send it to a marsh before it goes to your pond. Also, by
ading only a small portion of new tub water to the pond at a time should
have less impact on your aquatic system (solution to pollution is dilution).

keep us updated...sounds like a GOOD THING.

ciao,
Kelly
