A few things I have been thinking about regarding earlier posts...

Liquid manure/biogass effluent - Though I'm pretty sure the rates of application I listed should be OK in general, at least early on it would be valuable to test the effluent at least for N and apply accordingly. Another aspect is the method of application, much in these parts in "knifed in", injected through a hollow shank on a simple tillage tool. Basically squirts the stuff into a little furrow. Though this concentrates the material and likely raises heck with the soil biota adjacent to the furrow, most of the soil does not get impaired and should be able to recolonize any harmed area. This also keeps N volatilization down and stink too.

I talked with my buddy Martin Jelenc about ferro-concrete, he says galvanized lath has no serious issues of corrosion from dis similar metals. I would still steer clear of chicken wire. I'm still thinking about wether welding the steel makes any sense. It would be pretty simple to do with straight mild steel, but any coating like the epoxy that was described or galvanizing would have to be ground off. Might make some sense for some more wild shapes, especially in conjunction with a bending tool. Has anyone used slip forming with this technique?

I very curious if there are any lurkers on this list of a more right wing perspective, or does it stop with my rageing centrism?

I also wonder if people like the stuff I forward from Grazers Edge? No one has said one way or another. For those who don't participate there I would guess I'm sending on about 2-5% of that list's content.

A thought on PC designers/teaching courses. Is there a chance one of you brave instructors would do an intensive for more advanced students without formal PC training? If I could get all the way to teacher in 2 weeks for $2000 US I would go for it.

I guess thats it for now. Hope all are well (really!)
Mark L
