yep, i have read that quite often people drown in the desert.... (no,
seriously, they camp in a wadi and during the night a flood comes, caused
by rains dozends of miles upstream...)... but i am living in a climate
where there is more precipitation than evaporation, so there are lots of
ponds that never dry out.
