If grafting outside wait until full buds, they need warm weather
for the grafts to take.  Usually easy to graft but I always have poor
long term survival .  I also bag them if grafting outside, with a bid
of wet paper towel in colored bag.

Subject:[nafex] Plum Grafting / Budding

Greetings All -

Last year I attempted to graft 6 Plum Rootstocks to 6 varieties of
plum; 0
takes.

This year the Rootstocks are doing well and I have a fresh batch of
scions.
Does anyone have any *tricks* for successfully grafting Plum on an
established seedling? Whip? Splice? Tight or loose binding? I plan to
bud
as well as a safety net.

I also have 3 bare Rootstocks. Tips for these would be appreciated as
well.

Thanks All-

-Pete
