Deb,
I have to wonder if you're making it too hard for yourself. When we went to
the online issues, you (or someone? not the members, anyway) were the one who
decided to upload each article on a separate page with separate links to each
article and full-color photographs vs. doing just the one-document pdf and/or
html file that just duplicates the old-format newsletter. It seems like
unnecessary work to me. It would be interesting to know how members are
reading it (or not reading it)....perhaps an online survey (or--better yet--a
postcard survey) could be set up to assess this after this full year online?
I'd like to point out that your correction wasn't necessary....what I said
was that when the Pomona FIRST went online several months ago (a year ago,
now?) this was the case, but now it has been remedied and I am very
appreciative out here in the boonies!
I've already suggested ways to pay for a print newsletter (while at the same
time saying I don't necessarily think it is necessary any longer now that
better download formats are available). That is, charge print subscribers
more--charge them the FULL and ACTUAL cost of the print newsletter--which I
think should have been happening all along. As for who to do it....yes, as a
board member of several other organizations now and in the past, I know that
is always the unresolved question..... Presumably someone was doing all of
that before it all went online, correct?
