Yeah, but it might be worth waiting a couple of years to see if anything else gets released.  And someone might be growing them in southern Quebec or Ontario, which are a lot more like my climate than Saskatchewan.

They all sound wonderful.  And they might be small enough to net the whole bush, which means I might actually be able to harvest cherries.

I have been reading the reviews of Carmine Jewel on the Gurneys website.  About half of the reviews I've read are from people who accidentally mowed the baby trees, or had them eaten.  :-)  I guess that's a common fate.  A lot of them seem to have come back the next year, so perhaps I should wait and see if my Carmine Jewels make a comeback before buying more.

On the U. of S. website, they have a link to a PDF called "Availability of Sour Cherries in the US." It says that the US company, Gardens Alive, (which includes Fields and Gurneys) has done the huge amount of work to legally import some of these new cherry varieties to the US. As far as I know, they're only selling Carmine Jewel so far, not the other varieties. If anyone knows of a place in the US selling the other varieties, could you give me a link?

Considering how new these cherries are, I don't think anyone can give ripening dates for places they haven't been grown yet. I'd guess they'd ripen earlier further south.

Does anyone know when these ripen?  I'd most like to know when they ripen in eastern MA, but I'll take dates from anywhere.
