What an enchanting thought! Plums, peaches and apricots in a cluster like
grapes. And then you must crush it with reality.

A simple scientific definition of a (plant) Genus is that it is
comprised of a group of plants that can interbreed. When we compare the
flowering habit between Chokecherry and plants of the Genus Prunus. it seems

clear that Chokecherry is not a Prunus. If Chokecherry would be a Prunus,
some plant breeder would have crossed it with plums to get a dangling of
plums that resembles grapes except that the fruit would be huge.
Clearly(?), Chokecherry is not a Prunus and its name, Padus nana is more
fitting.
