Richard,
I agree with the Dr. Don't let the seeds dry out. I have seeds that sprout underneath the Meiwa tree every year from seed/fruit that fall from the tree. My guess is that leaving them in the fruit over winter in a refrigerator in a ziplock bag might be appropriate.
I have a row of Meiwa seedlings which I plan to transplant this winter. Some are 7' tall and very leggy and thorny. Although the seedling plants may not resemble the growth of the grafted plants, the fruit so far have been identical. It seems to take a few years for them to produce--but by then they are nice nice trees capable of producing an appreciable amount of fruit.

My parents sent us a box of kumquats they grow in Augusta, GA.  Source is a seedling tree from Lee Sharp.

I'd like to save these seeds, then give them away in early March.

Please share any ideas on cleaning and preserving kumquat seed.

Thanks,
Richard Moyer
