I few years I went to a medical conference and they had a lecture on
venom therapy. It is popular along the amazon to use electric shock
to treat snakebite. They use the magneto from an outboard motor. It
doesn't work. Worthless treatment. Patients usually die or lose
limbs. Only antivenom works but the poor people in amazon don't have
any.
