Hello Alan & group,
Persimmon buds push right through Parafilm, and everything i've ever grafted, no problem. This is a bark graft with two scions inserted and was completely Parafilm covered. As can be seen three buds pushed through. I've seen them push through three layers with ease.
It was wrapped with yellow electrical tape then covered. No muss, no fuss, no liquids to carry around, no wax to heat, no preparations to warm with the hands. Don't even carry a cissors to cut the Parafilm, use the same utility knife that I use to cut the scion wood. Don't own a grafting knife, too expensive, nice, but unneeded.
Jerry
PS. Never knew Parafilm was available perforated.
