Thanks for the link, Naomi.
We've tried CFLs, but most applications in my home necessitate a 'base-up' installation, and most CFLs are not designed for that mode of operation, and after spending $$$ for them, only to have them burn out after 3-4 weeks' service, I refuse to purchase any more.
