It might be a mandarinquat or orangequat (both are hybrids between a
mandarin/tangerine and a kumquat. I've seen a 'Nippon' and an 'Indio'
variety. They're great. The interior of a ripe one tastes like a slightly
tart but sweet mandarin and the peel is sweet like a kumquat. They look
exactly like kumquats on steroids.

It looked exactly like a gigantic kumquat, but I think it was too
large to be one, unless they've gone the strawberry route. :-)
