Regarding the effects of soil and
fertilization:
I read that if apples are produced with some degree
of nitrogen deficiency, the fruit will be highly colored and store better.
There was something I read about tomatoes being
more acidic, something to do with copper... hmmm... maybe too much copper from
it being used in fungicidal sprays.
