Canned spiced pear halves (with cinnamon and nutmeg, for instance; and if I remember right how I used to make these, also some sugar. I can try to find the recipe if you want.). Pear pies.

I don't know why more people don't make pear pie. Pears make great pie. Fill up the pie crust with sliced pears; add sugar to taste and according to the sweetness of the particular pears, a little flour according to the juiciness of the particular pears, a little cinnamon and nutmeg; bake like apple pie. (Admittedly you can't market these like jelly; but if you have a local market, I think they would sell.)
