Hi Donna,

Re, the pump. 140' of head is not a big deal. That's only 70psi. Any
small well pump will deliver that much pressure. The biggest problem
pumping out of a creek is to keep the trash and silt out of the pump so
you'll need some kind of filter if it's a closed impeller pump. Open
impeller pumps will handle more trash, but they are less efficient and take
more horsepower to deliver the pressure you need. For open impeller pumps,
you might look into pacer pumps. They sell them in farm supplies around
here. They make good cheap plastic pumps that hold up well (I don't know if
they make closed impeller pumps). Just make sure the pump will deliver the
pressure you need.
