A lot of plants which grow fairly well in semi-shade do not flower or fruit well in semi-shade.

Also, it's "Fru Dagmar Hastrup" (sometimes Frau if a German was writing).

Am interested in the possibility of growing roses for hips (rosa
rugosa), since (I believe) they require little care & do well in
semi-shade.

Is this correct? Also, have read that the pavement series roses are
among the better rosa rugosas for a variety of reasons-is this so?

Also, what about other cultivars (e.g.-Dart's Dash, Jubilee, Frau
Dagmar Haustrip (sp?))?

Also, I understand the seeds are high in vitamin E, if survived upon
consumption-processing suggestions?

Any input on the matter would be appreciated. I am along the east
coast (well, about 10 miles inland) in zone 7, thank you.
