Specifically, the suspected-toxic part of rapeseed oil is Erucic Acid
[spelling is from memory] Canola [that is an acronym for Canadian-Oil-A] has
reduced
erucic acid content by selective breeding. Canola was on the scene for
decades before gene splicing started.
There has been a controversy about Erucic Acid whether it was truly toxic or
simply believed toxic. Well, its been bred down to an insignificant amount
in
bred-up Canola. Rapeseed and Canola of course are both brassica, like
cabbage, broccoli and turnips are.
