Mike,

Would you mind giving a few details about the design of the bag?
It seems to me that one could have a bag with a fairly small neck
area that is stitched such that that area might be easily pulled apart when it comes time to remove the bag. My wife (who sews)
says that a bag could be sewn with a narrow neck (just big
enough to pass a golf ball) and a larger main body using a basting
stitch in combination with a back stitch at the wide part of the bag
and that the thread used to sew the bag can be used as the draw
string up at the neck and then when one wants to open the bag
one would merely cut the stitch on each side and it would unravel.
She says button and craft thread thread would probably be best.
Other possible materials might be Organza, Bridal Tulle, Chiffon, or Nylon Voile all of which are similar and can be
obtained for $2.00 yard.

Also how big were the fruits when you bagged them?

I bagged peaches and apricots last year with home-made remay bags. Near 100% success.
