Hey all,

I guess everyone in the south at least at dealing with
the summer plague of Japanese beetles. I dont read to
many posts about them on here. I assume everyone
sprays Surround or Sevin or just deall with them. They
seem to really like my cherry tree and cherry bushes,
and would totally defoliate them givin a chance.
Thats really the only major spraying I have to do. I
really wonder though how much damage they really do to
my plants. I say this because they dont have fruit on
them right now.

Would they just grow more leaves and be fine or would
they weaken so much that the spring crop would
suffer?

What do other members do?

Lastly, I was told by one of the agents at the
Clarksville, AR station they were testing an
experimental Mlkyspore trap that captured the beetles
an dusted the bug and let it go, there by inoculating
the soil were the eggs are laid. Does anyone know the
status of this trap?

Robert
