Mark,

Another cause of low numbers of blossoms is if you left too many fruit on the
tree
last year. The tree sends all its nutrients to feed the fruit and there aren't
enough nutrients left over to make fruit buds for 2005.

This could in part explain why I had poor fruit set. Early spring was
warm, but when the blossoms came out, the average temp dropped to the
lower 50's. Another problem I have this year is lack of blossoms, a
cause of which is excess nitrogen in the previous year. I may be guilty
of over feeding.
