Lisa,
For those that like to tinker, here is a link to a home-made misting
system. The part that controls the mist is called an artificial leaf.
It is a wire mesh that gets sprayed by the mist. It is placed on one
end of a bar that forms a teeter-totter mechanism. When enough water
collects on the mesh, it pulls the mesh down, which opens a switch that
turns off the mist. When it dries off, the counter weight lifts the
mesh up, which turns the mist on. This keeps the surface of the
cuttings at just the right moisture to root.

I keep hearing about propagating under mist; is there
a low-cost home-use-type mist system somewhere out
there?
