It's almost always too much in one direction, isn't it?

I've gardened in almost pure sand (southern NJ) and now I
have terrible, terrible 100% heavy clay (northern PA).

I've also gardened in loam (once upon a time) and I didn't
realize then how lucky I was. But wow, do I realize it now!
