Hi,

Someone mentioned this technique a while back...

Buy a large bale of peat moss. Punch holes in one side (drain holes) on one flat side. Dig a hole and place the bale in the hole with drain holes down. Now cut an "X" in the center of the top of the bale. Soak peat moss. After it is soaked throughout plant a blueberry bush directly into the peat. Keep peat moss damp.

You have basicly created a bog for the blueberry bush to grow in with the proper PH.

The bag the peat moss cames in acts as a large planter. If you have to move it, it can be dug and moved.

Later,
Tom

Has anyone ever invented a blueberry for the Northern grower that
doesn't require acidic soil? My soil is sandy, calcareous and has a vast
buffering potential to where it is not only difficult to make acidic but it
won't stay that way. If I'm to grow blueberries, the plants should desire a
pH range of 6.5 to 7.5. Does such a blueberry exist?
