Temperate climate people,

For an indoor citrus which you can propagate by seed, go for Key Lime. They produce small fruits, but they are the sourest of them all. Lowest pH too (duh). In cold areas, you'll probably need a greenhouse to propagate the seeds, same for grafting Persian Limes.

If you're doing this in order to get a useful fruit yield, forget about indoor oranges and grapefruits. A Meyers Lemon, a Key Lime, and a Kumquat will add citrus novelty to your temperate climate diet without the ridiculous year-long wait for a single substandard grapefruit.

Also, try fertilizing potted citrus with comfrey concentrate in spring, in a hot south-facing window.
