I know of a few people in the grafting and nursery business that use linoleum knives with the replaceable blades. others that have tried it some have continued and others have not. I have not tried it, but keep saying I am going to try. I guess I am just used to my Tina #685 made in Germany. The blade is short (2 3/8") the handle (4") has a great fit for me with the upward curve at the back and has been with me for many years.

Yup. I'm left handed, too, and a left handed knife is easier to use. In a pinch, an ordinary (non-handed) knife works okay, but it doesn't leave quite as clean a cut.

A good grafting knife has an edge that is beveled on one side only. If you re-grind the edge with the bevel on the other side, you should be able to use it easily with much less danger of cutting yourself. Having the bevel facing the right way makes cutting much smoother and safer. I can get decent, wooden handled grafting knives for about $5.00, cheap enough to risk muffing it in the regrinding._______________________________________________

To answer those who cannot understand why anyone cuts themselves while
grafting......
I'm left handed. The world and all its instructions are backwards to me.
