Bruce
Thanks for helping me clarify the question.  The goal of this orchard is to sell apples, as well as fostering the idea of locally grown organic fruit.  It's a health/nutrition  issue.

Thanks
Mike

Mike:

It depends on whether you want to sell fruit, scions, grafts or trees. I am getting close on to 500 trees, mostly antiques, and do not plan on selling fruit.

Subject: [NAFEX] Apple Orchard

I am in the planning stages of making an apple orchard.  I put in 10 trees for now and plan on another 50 in the spring and 50 in the fall.  Altogether I plan on about a 300-tree orchard.

I am working now but plan to retire in a year or two.  The orchard will be my new "job."

Any tips for someone new, who has a lot of desire but not a lot of know-how?

Thanks,
Mike
