Ed,
Good question I should have included that in the first request for information.  Zone 5, eastern Colorado.  The soil tends toward the clay side.  Once trees are well rooted they seem to do well if cared for.

Thanks,

Mike

Subject: [NAFEX] Apple Orchard

I am in the planning stages of making an apple orchard.  I put in 10 trees for now and plan on another 50 in the spring and 50 in the fall.  Altogether I plan on about a 300-tree orchard.

I am working now but plan to retire in a year or two.  The orchard will be my new "job."

Any tips for someone new, who has a lot of desire but not a lot of know-how?

Thanks,
Mike
