- Subject: [NAFEX] Apple Picking- How cold is too cold?
- Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 11:19:48 -0400
Here in Maine we have had a warm fall and didn't get our first frost until Oct 3. I have heard that apples can stand a light frost but if it gets too cold they'll be ruined. I still have quite a few apples still on the trees. How cold can an apple get overnight without being damaged? Does it vary from variety to variety?
