My Brown Turkey potted fig is three years old. When the nighttime
temperature gets below 18-20 degrees F. I put the fig in my root cellar in a
moist environment at a temp of 32-34 over the winter. It works. Bruce z5 MI

Ive got about 15 varieties of figs, some pawpaws, yellowhorns, & paper
mulberry & growing in 5
gallon buckets. Some of the figs are now 6-8 years old. Everybody goes in
a partially heated
basement & they all do well. Also have citrus, loquats, passionflowers, bay
laurel, surinam
cherry going in containers, but they come inside the house & get the
southern windows in the
winter.
