Meaning wildlife. In my experience (and like you I am in New
Mexico), hostile wildlife are not a significant threat. We see
plenty of bear sign, but the bears themselves keep out of our
way. I would be more concerned about aggressive cattle, but
here too shooting an animal would have a significant negative
political consequence for SAR.
