We're seeing the growth in produce auctions (Amish) here in Iowa. Some
of that produce is showing up at farmers markets. Produce at the
auctions is sometimes sold very cheaply. At the Des Moines market (one
of the largest in the country) we saw produce auction stuff last
weekend. The Amish are very creative in their design and construction
of tunnels, and tunnels are popping up all over Amish country.

Having said that, last weekend was probably the last time I'll ever go
to the Des Moines Farmer's Market. They have simply ruined it by
turning into a circus. Hoards of people, have to park 10 blocks away,
lots of people selling crap to fools.

It is no wonder people are looking to smaller markets where they have
a chance to get to know their farmers and trust what they are told by
them.
