Yes, I’ve read that they can move around and yes, they’re the ones that are toxic to cattle and horses when baled in alfalfa hay – another favorite crop.

A fellow market farmer recommended Pyganic and was seconded by the nearby CSU Research Center organic expert, so I have some ordered.  For as transient as they’re supposed to be they really stuck around last year – defoliated the entire 800# potato planting over a couple weeks, started in on peppers and fava beans, then they left.  

 

What do you spray them with Jay?  I’ve never had to spray for anything before and usually tolerate some low level of insects and damage , but when we saw these guys coming back we decided it’s time to take action!
