That's how we have successfully defeated the deer, groundhogs, bunnies, etc., on our farm (which has a resident deer herd of over 250 head) for the past 17 years. I find a minimum of 2 dogs works best but at the moment we are down to one dog and still very little deer damage.

And I have found the older dogs do a very good job of training the puppies/young dogs for the job, better than what we humans can do. Still it takes a minimum of 12 months to train a dog to do the job (which includes not doing a lot of damage themselves to the gardens via digging, stealing crops and walking on planted beds)

Just curious, does anyone have dogs? I have a couple of good dogs and rarely, if ever, see deer or the results of damage from deer, raccoons, etc.
