Greetings,
Doesn't the polyprolene stuff cut into the plants? What speed of winds do you deal with?
Bright Blessings,

I use polypropylene baling twine. It has over 100 pounds of tensil strength and doesn't sag and is UV resistant. The first year I had my dad save all of it from when he used big round bales to feed cattle, bedding for hogs and etc. I found it way to time consuming to unravel everything and tie it all back together. It did work and I was happy I was recycling but it just was time consuming. If you have nothing to do all winter long, ask a farmer for some. I am sure they would love to get rid of it!
Each "ball" is 20,000 feet. I finally used one ball in 1.5 years. To tie up tomatoes in a Florida Weave, I either put the ball in a bucket or carry it in a backpack. The second method is a good way to keep both hands free.

The industry standard is a poly (-ethylene? -propylene?) twine
because organics, such as jute, with absorb moisture, stretch and
sage, then begin to deteriorate. I’d love to hear about an
OMRI-approved product. But I’m not aware of one.
What are you spraying for? Entrust is a pretty good OMRI-approved
insecticide, but there are others. They are effective on different
insects so you may need more than one to control the insect pests
you have in your field. There are also alternatives to pesticides
which can be more important (resistance, exclusion, rotation, etc.).

This year I'm planning to weave my tomatoes. I need to buy
twine and was wondering what people on the list would recommend? During a long internet search I see that some places recommend nylon
twine but I'd rather use a biodegradable or natural product.
Also I'm looking for an organic certified/ OMRI listed product
to use for foliar spray, any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Andrea
