The industry standard is a poly (-ethylene?
-propylene?) twine because organics, such as jute, with absorb moisture,
stretch and sage, then begin to deteriorate. I’d love to hear about an
OMRI-approved product. But I’m not aware of one. What are you spraying for? Entrust is a
pretty good OMRI-approved insecticide, but there are others. They are effective
on different insects so you may need more than one to control the insect pests
you have in your field. There are also alternatives to pesticides which can be
more important (resistance, exclusion, rotation, etc.). Bill William H. Shoemaker Sr. Research Specialist, Food Crops 630-584-7254, FAX-584-4610 From: market-farming-bounces AT lists.ibiblio.org

This year I'm planning to weave my tomatoes. I need to buy twine and was
wondering what people on the list would recommend? During a long internet
search I see that some places recommend nylon twine but I'd rather use a
biodegradable or natural product. |
