My best crop is rocks. I'm able to pick them in various shapes, sizes and colors.  :D  We zip around with the Hatfield easily. If you hit a bigger rock it might move the transplanter over a couple of inches but that's not a big deal for us. Mine is used so much it's turning pink from being out in the sun.

Youtube had other videos that could be selected when I brought the Japanese one up and so I looked at Johnny's Hatfield Transplanter.  I believe a while back we may have had some discussion on that....but now that is has been out on the market for a while, I'm wondering if there are experiences with it that you could share, particularly around this concept of "if the ground is prepared properly".   I assume the softer and fluffier the better, but can it work around pebbles, clods, the hidden mallow root, etc?

I use one of the paperpot transplanters also and it is a slick little machine if the ground is prepared properly.
