We have used this for the last three to four years (ordered a
third for this year) and they work great. Only takes one hand to manage the
planter so the other is free to drop the transplant in. We make tie a string
around a ¼ to ½ bushel basket and carry it around our shoulders with the
transplants that have been removed from the flats. A couple people pulling
transplants from the trays and a couple of people planting and it moves along
fast. http://www.standnplant.com/planter.htm Thanks, Frank Ventura Dragonfly Farms www.dragonfly-farms.com From:

[mailto:market-farming-bounces AT lists.ibiblio.org] On Behalf Of John and
Katy Ehrlich I had no luck with the hatfield, as it did not properly sink
the txp in and I would have to go after and do it by hand, so basically it was
a waste of time. It requires two people to do the work of one. I sent it back. John E On 30-Mar-10, at 11:03 AM, Sheila Payne wrote:
Youtube had other videos that
could be selected when I brought the Japanese one up and so I looked at
Johnny's Hatfield Transplanter. I believe a while back we may have had
some discussion on that....but now that is has been out on the market for a
while, I'm wondering if there are experiences with it that you could share,
particularly around this concept of "if the ground is prepared
properly". I assume the softer and fluffier the better, but
can it work around pebbles, clods, the hidden mallow root, etc? Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2010 12:31:48 -0400 This is not going to help you
right now, for this year's leeks, but this is how I transplant leeks:
