You never can say for certain. But I was recently speaking with Dubois Agrinovation's - Director of Development (the creator/manufacturer of Biotello) at the NYS Veg. Growers Expo. He told me in no uncertain terms that their number one priority is to get Biotello OMRI and NOP approved in 2010. Although there are definite instances of products not meeting criteria, there are also a lot of instances in which all the corporate bureaucratic hoops just haven't been jumped through yet. It sounds as though that is likely more of the case with Biotello. It is after all approved for Organic Production by the European Union, Canada, and essentially the rest of the world. There's obviously a lot of incentive for them to get NOP approval so I would believe fully that they are working on this.
So those interested in Biotello but needing certification may be able to hold out hope that sometime soon they'll be able to lay some of this stuff.

I don't know whether there is a problem with this particular material: but in the past some such materials have turned out to have no evidence either that they break down entirely, or that no hazardous materials will be among the trace residue. I think NOFA may have refused to approve this so far because they've been unable to get the information necessary to decide this. -- Rivka; Finger Lakes NY, Zone 5 mostly Fresh-market organic produce, small scale _______________________________________________ Market-farming mailing list Market-farming AT lists.ibiblio.org http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/market-farming
