experience here is that wet beans will rot if they go more that 48 hours without drying out, whether you picked some or not. Leaving them means that you will be slowed when you do harvest by having to pick out the oversize. Damned if you do; damned if you dont! This year, the year it rained all summer, bush beans were drowned out repeatedly, and Fortex pole bealn on trellis and black plastic mulch are doing well, much more forgiving of oversize too.
