Has anyone had any luck with using clamshells for display, but transferring to recyclable bags or containers for sale? I remember as a child, the farmer always kept the wooden berry baskets.

We don't use clam shells but do re-use the pint and quart plastic containers that food from the supermarket comes in. We reuse them until they get cracked or don't come clean.

The local market stands/stores around here generally have their fruits displayed in pint or quart containers. When you purchase, they dump the items into a clean plastic bag and they keep the containers. I learned from the, so that's how I do things at my farm, too. No one's complained.
