I've purchased from Jordan Seeds before and bought a lot of our seed from them for this last planting season....I've been happy with their product and their service. They're very quick to ship your order and/or inform you if an item is back-ordered or not available. I would recommend them. I just went to their website, and their pricing on the
things I looked at was very attractive. For instance, they have great
pricing on lettuce seed. We buy inexpensive varieties by the pound for our
mesclun mix, and their prices are good. Two caveats: First, they do
have some transgenic seed. I noticed two transgenic varieties of summer
squash - the way I understand, if it has a roman numeral after it, it's
transgenic and one of the varieties had it in its description, the other did
not. So be careful if you don't want GMO seed on your farm. I looked
at sweet corn and did not see the "Attribute" varieties which are the transgenic
sweet corn I'm familiar with. Secondly, I didn't see any information about
treated seed. I have emailed them to ask whether they have treated seed, and how
to tell which, if any, is.
So, could be a good addition to our seed suppliers - just
need to wait for an answer about treated seed since we don't use
it.

company here and the prices seem very reasonable. How reliable are they
for quality and for reliably getting what one orders? They seem much
cheaper than Fedco for a lot of items though not all. The Sweet corn
prices were pretty low from my experience, about 20-25 %, other items like beets
were about half the price. On the down side they seem to leave out
information on their website but they did respond the same day during this
holiday season which impressed me somewhat. I like saving money but
I'm wondering if I'll have more headaches than its worth given their
prices. I guess it couldn't be worse than Fedco but I try not to learn
things the hard way. ____________________________________________________________ Save $15 on Flowers and Gifts from FTD! Shop now at www.ftd.com/17007 It’s the same Hotmail®. If by “same” you mean up to 70% faster. Get your account now. |
