Putting up a trellis takes time and money. Does the length of your
harvest period for those vines justify it? What about biodegradeable
plastic mulch? Clean cucumbers, earlier crop, nothing to remove after
the crop, just till in the vines and remains of the biomulch. Some
initial work laying the biomulch, and the crew still has to stoop to
harvest (unless you have those clever harvest carts where the crew sit
or lie down).
