I think you're right on most counts Bob. Every detail needs to
be managed and moved toward profitability. Soil quality makes a huge difference
(loamy sands with 20' water tables). But I know growers who make more than
$20/hour. It isn't easy. They work like dogs from April through October. And
they charge high prices and deliver high quality. They have big customer
traffic.
