- Subject: [Market-farming] Prices for Okra and herbs

Last season I charged $4.00/quart for
okra, is this too cheap or about normal? I have nothing to compare it to.
Living in I had a great year last year for growing it.
I also sell herbs, but I have no idea how
large of a bunch to make, and at what price. How do others bunch up rosemary,
oregano, chives and thyme? I put the basil in a big container of water and just
gave people a really nice sized bunch for $2.00 last year, and a small bunch of
sage for $1.50 and parsley for $1.50. Sometimes I would put these into individual
jars with water and sometimes just quite a bit into a jar, and made bunches from
that. I am allergic to rubber bands, so I sometimes have tied bunches with ribbons.
I am at a lost as to what to charge for the
herbs and would appreciate help with this. And how large of a bunch to sell. Thank you, Sue Wells |
