Yes, I've seen it back in the old lands, in County Donegal.

The garden fairies get started with their partying right
about this time in March -- especially the sulphur
fairy group with their penchant for onions -- and after
a few rounds of ale the youthful mischievious ones
go out looking for shenanigans, while the old ones
sing songs around the campfire and spin tall tales
for the wide-eyed wee little ones.
It's pretty typical to see onion sets dislodged and
gathered together like that on market farms with
great sounding names and green acres, the fairies
just can't resist.
