You can add nitrogen to corn and you probably should. Corn uses a lot of
nitrogen because it grows so much leaf material in a short period of time.
The fertilizer analysis (10-10-10) just indicates the percentage of
nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium by weight in the fertilizer, whether it's
organic or not. You must look for other information on the package to
determine if it's organic. If it doesn't give a clear statement that it is
listed as an acceptable organic fertilizer, it probably isn't. Most organic
fertilizers are bulky because they haven't been processed chemically to
refine the fertility of the product. So if it says 10-10-10, it's probably a
chemically processed fertilizer. You might want to use a composted manure,
especially if you can find an old source. It should be fine for corn.
