I can't comment on the other questions but I'm dubious about plastic mulch
controlling yellow nutsedge. We see it push right through the plastic film.
As it emerges from the soil it has a rather sharp point at the leaf tip. It
just keeps pushing up till it reaches light. That sharp point just goes
right through the mulch film.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of it
organically? We could remove the gooseberries, if necessary. We
could temporarily move the cold frames, but I don't want to give up
the blueberries. Has anyone had any luck with black plastic or other
impermeable mulches? How long did you mulch for?
