I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but. The farmers
around here who use horses get into the field earlier to plow when
conditions would cause serious compaction if a tractor were used. I
still think turning over wet soil even with horses still destroys soil
structure. These guys do have some of the best corn crops so there must
be something good about horse and mule power after all. Of course I
should add that the folks farming with animal power live in a parallel
universe where the laws of economics as we know them don't apply... Bob
